Favorite Thing about Climbing
First boulder, central park NYC,1962 I did basic and intermedite classes in Yosemite in 1971,age 14. Tried to quite one time ,after I got married in 1981.Didnt work,I used to have fits and just start climbing things ,anything! trees, buildings bridges, much to the embaressment of my now X wife ! 3years ago I returned to Yosemite and did a couple of intense days with Ken Yager. Aid,Solo aid.acenders ,hauling systems, traversing with pigs, ect.Ask me anything ,but please do not ask why !Anything but that !             Just an old trad guy dedicated to doing this as long as I .........well screw that.......I learned to solo long before I ever picked up a rope.I used to claw my way up the shale cliffs in the metro parks around Cleveland ,when I was 9 or 10 years old .For those that dont know, ohio shale is a cross between hard grease/soap/mud/with a bit of flaky slate thrown in to hold it all together!  By the time I actualy learned the proper use of ropes and hardware I was 13 and leading seemed the most natural thing in the world. I do love long multi pitch trad climbs,I would like to do some of Yosemite's big walls.
Favorite Destination
