It's all about the thrill of getting to the top!

My very first outdoor climb....I got all the way to the top...tense and with a bit of fear...My friend is yelling at me to come on down...( remember this is my first outdoor climb and I've used the self belayers which you don't hold on to the rope at all) ..so i just let go without grabbing the rope..hung myself upside down ,rope tangled ..and blood rushing to my head....hmmm I'm in a bit of trouble...embarresed...friends yelling at me to grab onto the rope and get untwisted ...use my feet to get away from the wall...and walk myself down....as I'm looking down...realized I'm afraid of heights..especially in the upside down position...closed my eyes for a brief second..thinking hmm I so this is what it feels like scared shitless....well...I managed to get myself upright and down safely.... This is my most embarrasing climbing memory....but...after that day...I went on climbing...over come the fears!!
