Favorite Thing about Climbing

I used to be into numbers and volume but in my old age I love sharing experiences and going new places. Climbed in the 70's and 80's before putting it on hold to watch my kids follow their athletic dreams. Started back up about 2004 after my daughter finished her college swimming career.

Red Rocks 2007

Favorite Climbing Memory

I've done a lot of muti-pitch trad in Eldorado, Devils Tower and Yosemite. But Red Rocks 2007 was my best trip yet. Solar Slab, Cat in the Hat and some classic cracks in Calico Basin. The Solar Slab day was unbelievable. Alone in the canyon with a great partner that hadn't done any really big multi-pitch climbs (so I got to lead every pitch). Add to that perfect, chilly but not cold weather. Then mix in awesome exposure and incredible positions on moderate, perfect rock.
