Description
Turkey Rocks is home to arguably the best crack climbing in Colorado. The coarse granite crags run the gamut from big off widths to tip shredding cracks. Be aware that there are very few rap anchors and most routes require a walkoff. Getting there: From Colorado Springs head west on hwy 24, in Woodland park, turn north onto hwy 67. Once you get to the town of Westcreek, turn onto SR 68 then then right onto Stump road. travel along Stump Road for approximately 3.7 miles, then turn tight on FR 360. Take FR360 for about 2 miles and then turn left. You should have a high clearance vehicle for the drive in as the road is pretty washed out in sections. for route information, check either rc.com or mountainproject.com route databases. the Peter Hubbel South Platte guidebook is no longer in print and rare to find.

How far down on NF-360?      [ top of page ]

Posted by: ramseyrt on 7/25/2007
Hello, I'm using Google Earth and your directions to find the location of Turkey Rock. How far down the road on NF-360 is the climb? If I follow it out far enough it ends up at the Cheeseman Reservoir. It looks like NF-360 is also named Cedar Mountain Rd. Thanks, Rob
