  • Just above the road is a clean granite slab that offers topropes in the 5.7-5.9 range (starting with 5.7 on the left as you face it)Getting to top is mildy tricky. Ascend to the top of the Amphitheater via the obvious steps, then scramble through a groove until it is possible to walk down to the tree. Use caution as the top of this cliff is quite grainy. The Roadside routes aren't named, but variations are obvious. Great route to start off on and graduate Boulder is on other side of road, for some bouldering. (Front Range Topropes by: Fred Knapp)
Description
The Army Demonstration Area consists of several crags in the periphery of an abandoned amphitheater. The primary toproping crags are the Roadside Cliffs and the Amphitheater wall. To reach these areas, drive 0.7 miles from the crosswalk at the Canyon entrance (Cheyenne Canyon) to a good pull-out on the right.
