The Heart of the Art....

The Heart of the Art....

Ah, yes.  I was once asked how there could POSSIBLY be a link between climbing and fine art...and to that I have found an answer.  When, just this past Monday, I found myself with a need to climb....and simultaneously found myself at my art studio all day long, I opted to test the durability of the house in which I create my artwork.  Built in 1929, I can now say with great confidence (having traversed the opening between two of the main rooms of the house...) that the home was built quite well.

Climbing is where you find it, friends...

Intelligence is over rated

Intelligence is over rated

FA attempt of my new project "Intelligence is over rated" V-what, 5.retard. I got the beer opened at the next clip but then spilled it when my mom called. I tried to get the phone and proceeded to take a 31 inch whipper to the crash-pad because I was drunk and my belayer was watching tv. Next time.

Buildering

Buildering

I found this buildering spot downtown. This new retaining wall has various heights from 20-35 ft, with half pad crimps, bad feet and slippery top outs. A lot of fun!!!

The Story

We spotted this video of Michael Reardon's buildering exploits on Youtube. The famous free solo artist apparently died after being swept into the Irish Sea by a freak wave this weekend.

Henry Ave Bridge

Posted by yedrek on 5/11/2007
Description
This is a mix of buildering and sport climbing. Someone bolted the underside of a bridge making 12-16 nice sport climbs. Easy to get to from Lincoln Drive in Pa just north of Kelly Drive. All climbing is pretty crimpy and ranges probably from 5.9- 5.12's.

Boathouse Buildering

Boathouse Buildering

This is a much younger version of myself buildering on the side of a boathouse at a state park in NC. Interesting to note that I just ripped those pants (which were about 8 years old) while slacklining.
