This is another shot of me on the splitter section of this route. It was cupped hands for me right here and fists just before the pod. Luckily there's another crack to the left that was perfect hands at the pod that made getting into the pod a lot easier.

You need to get yur butt out here this spring and experience the beauty for yourself WC. Last weekend in March til the first weekend in April. Put it on your calendar, in PEN, and make it happen WC. We got the gear and I'll be yur rope gun. ;p

those are the dates of RRRendevouz, and I'll be there for the week!

climbingtrash says:

I thought they did the RR rendezvous in the fall. (or was that just this year?) I'd like to make it out to that sometime.

climbingtrash says:

Your talking about the Red Rock rendezvous aren't you WC...I was thinking Red River, my bad.

woodchuck07 says:

Yep. Red Rocks is like March 27th or so, right during the busy post Easter vacation week time. Working on my travel schedule right now on that one.

I'm sooo there!!!

Now to figure out how to get my gear load there via airlines without paying overcharges.

I had no problem bringing all my camping gear and a trad rack to RRR last two years. Two evenly weighted bags and no overage. It's not IC so you don't need a humongous rack. Normal Eldorado type rack or similar. But I'll let the vegas locals give you the scoop on what to bring. I will absolutely be there with eyes on Tunnel Vision, Lotta Balls, and Johnny Vegas.

I just went out on SWest air last month and didn't know they allow 3 checked bags. Had I known, would have saved the 25 bucks they 'fined' me. Make each under 50 pounds and Im ok. Camping gear is waaay too bulky I figure, so will book cheap hotel comforts nearby or on the Strip. I'll have a rental car, so space to haul/give rides as needed.

Partner up and bring a light 2 man tent and be happy you bought those helium biners (ha ha) Carry-on bag with your clothes. You don't need to bring food or water since you can get that at the venue. Nat and I did it with 2 bags each but spread the gear between us. We also brought 2 ropes and still made it (needed two for Solar Slab raps). For the Rendezvous you really should spend the night at the venue with the entertainment, food, auction and clinics.

Oh I will be at the venue for the events all day Saturday.  From Chicago airports it's impossible to carry onboard anything 'outdoorsy' as they have no concept of what is not a weapon. Nylon, clothes and that's about it. No hardware,(might smack them with a big #6Camalot), no ropes(might tie up the fight attendent),no nothing.  I've done my time camping for plenty of outings. I'll take a few indoor creature comforts this trip.

nice lead, I need to get out of my shell and get back to Utah. Its had to leave the Platte
But that sure looks good.

climbingtrash says:

Thanks ff113. That's a real fun route. In 100ft that thing throws just about everything at you. You could come hang with us this spring for our annual "Team Trash week in the Creek". :)

I would love to climb with you. I have another 4 weeks of class and i am done. I may go up to lincoln this weekend. If we get some precip. I also teach for CMC College rock and ice class.

Cool, well you'd be more than welcome...unless you aren't down with some of our "fire starting" antics.

Team Trash Week at the Creek?  I missed that one being posted up under 'events' on this site. Is it in conjunctioin with Teen Week at the Creek, which follows Raging Queens Week at the Creek?   Crap, I miss all the good times...

Not on the single pitch stuff at the Creek. Besides, with all the cams and shit to haul up to the crag there just is room for a helmet.

Very nice shot! Not many cracks in my neck of the woods. ONe day I will get out there.

climbingtrash says:

Thanks UTBT! Well let me know when you have the time for a trip to Indian Creek. I'd be more than happy to show you around the place if I can swing the time off. Or you could come out for our fist annual "Team Trash Rendezvous" this spring...the more the merrier. :)

woodchuck07 says:

<em>woodchuck07</em>'s picture

I need to get my membership paid up for Team Trash soon to be eligible I assume...

climbingtrash says:

<em>climbingtrash</em>'s picture

It's either that or get hazed WC...which involves a ball gag, chair, and rubber tubbing. It's your call. :)

woodchuck07 says:

<em>woodchuck07</em>'s picture

hmmmm, that was a fun scene from Pulp Fiction. I might be into that IF and only if there is a hot, willing female dominatrix in charge of the 'initiation' proceedings. I've got some leftover rubber tube here somewhere.............

Just don't let Mary find out about this activity or I'll get scolded again...

Anykineclimb says:

don't forget the Bubble warp, snorkel and crisco...
