ha ha... This was taken at the [arguably] best sport climbing place in the country, the Red River Gorge in Kentucky! the lode is short for the motherlode which is an area at the Red. It consists of thirty killer .12s and fifteen sick .13s and even THREE .14s including Omaha Beach, which is what the badass-climber Katie Brown onsighted before a few holds broke! sickkkkk!

i'm planning on a 15 ft. screamer tomorrow at the 'Lode and guess if I crater it might make the 'featured page', eh? Ash, you are so right. That place is amazing. I am humbled by the 'warmup' wall as it has alot beyond my present capability. bummed....

woah - the rope DOES look fuzzy! But its just in the picture - because in real life its still like new. It's only a few months old... And yeah, the warm-up wall has a challenge to it, ehhhh? I think the lode is definitely made for climbers who want to PULL DOWN HARD!!!! It's cool though!

You're right, it looks awkward and cool. But more cool than awkward. See you tomorrow at qualifs, we start in the afternoon cause mornings are for breakfast, not stressing over routes.
