This is the picture to go with Top of Redgarden wall. I was alone in the canyon so hired a guide for the day since I had never been to Eldo before. Anyone know who that is? October 1976

Human Crashpad says:
A humble crag rat of the rock? I'm clueless as to the name.
doubleD says:
Big clues. He climbed some incredible routes in Germany as well as the East Coast and Eldorado. He is mentioned extensively in the book Climb.

Roger Briggs?
Cheers!
doubleD says:
nope. You may need to be really old school to know this one.
climbingtrash says:
I don't know, but of subject (as is customary on this site) is he bringing you up with a HIP BELAY? It looks like a hip belay to me. *shiver*

doubleD says:
Yup, its a hip belay and no pro there either (notice just nuts on the rack). Absolutely no issues for me on that. We did Hair City, Touch n Go, Grand Giraffe and Yellow Spur that day.

OK, let the old guy sign in here. It's Not: Kor, Forrest, Dalke,Gill,Briggs, Erickson or Duncan Ferguson. It's Stevie Wunsch! OK, I cheated. Checked out pg.220 photo in Climb! hardcover first edition to be positive.
doubleD says:
You're right. Now he is a gazillionaire trading on wall street I think. I have the same book btw and the Erickson pocket guidebook High Over Boulder from 1984.
woodchuck07 says:
Yup. Got the same little pocket books, one for Boulder and the small Eldorado canyon one. But mine gotta be from before 84 cuz I was already there before that with them books.
