Human Crashpad says:
Serene. Wish I wasn't stuck in school for the rest of the year, no holidays to get off the west coast and check out places like this.
climbingtrash says:
Someone been fertilizing that place with plutonium or what? The grass is making my walls glow green.

Bex says:
it's almost as if there is a yellow filter on the lense. My orange sun glasses do the same thing.
woodchuck07 says:
I once held some 'Blueblockers' sunglasses in front of my camera and got much the same effect for some reason I will never know. That or the film did it, but for this photo I'm going with 'trash and saying it's plutonium.
Will Hunt says:
Forget the main crag. Those boulders look promising.
:-)
Bex says:
The Boulders do look fun.
Spudz says:
i think my camera has a thing for green like wc camera
but the grass was very green there

Being one who climbs at Stoney quite often it probally is the sun reflecting off all of the broken beer bottles that make the picture look that way. Stoney has some fun bouldering but it is a choss pile. It's dirty and over crowded with unsafe climbers. It is the outside gym of LA.
But don't get me wrong there are some classic boulder problems.

yea you can see the graffiti on the boulders
i honestly didn't like the bouldering their

as trad', I like the looks of the curving crack/chimney area just left of center. Hopefully a 5.7 or so....
the_shoe says:
Not a Trad climbing venue! This rock is much to brittle to have gear hold a fall. It can hardly hold the wait of boulderers. In fact the rock is like a giant sponge and us locals muct wait up to five days to climb on it again after it rains (be mindful if visiting here.) Stoney is strictly a bouldering and top rope crag. The rock, routes and problems are always changing due to holds and large pieces of rock breaking off. There are much better climbing spots in the area, Stoney is the after work social hang for local LA climbers. And it certinly does not get treated with respect.

Excellent! breakaway holds so you can create your own improved route on certain poor weather days!
