I mounted a speedlight in the roof (using a gorilla pod)....it took me a while to get the gorilla stable in the crack, but then using the D200's wireless featuer, I shot the sequence....the crux is a hard move to an edge, then a foot-cut/campus move on jugs to great holds and a chill finish.

I love that gorillapod thing...but mine broke already. Just snapped off at the camera mount ond day in my pack. Now I got 3 bendy legs and nothing that attaches at top. How's yours holding out?
dbrayack says:
Mine's doing just great...and I tend to beat the snot out of stuff....go figure....did you get the biggest one? (I did.)

woodchuck07 says:
No, I think I had the small or medium, as it was about 6 inches long in total. Had only 2 or 3 bendable links from tripod to camera attachment. Snapped off right at the 'pod. Sucks. I used it alot for climbs since it wrapped things so well.

I like the explanation of the set up. Love my speedlight and wireless capabilities.
My pod is doing well too, I have the big one and it seems pretty indestructible.
Nice shot....

Hello Mark,
My name is Joel and I work for Joby. I love the pictures you've taken with your gorillapod and am very sorry to hear that the piece we sent you broke off. Legs with no head don't help much at all. I want to send you out a new gorillapod to replace the broken prize, but I need to know which gorillapod to send you. Most people love our products, but sometimes run into trouble when using a heavy camera with a smaller gorillapod.
If you've got a D200 you should use the gorillapod SLR-Zoom. If you're not sure what gorillapod is right for your gear you can go to our site at: http://www.joby.com/products/gorillapod/findmygpod/ and, well, find your gpod.
Send me an e-mail or a phone call and I will happily send out a replacement.
Thanks,
Joel Melamed

wow the gorilla pod man is very nice. The things he just wrote is proof of good customer service!
dbrayack says:
That's pretty rad of you Joel; I like your pod, I use it a lot for Macro stuff (its easy to chase around bugs with it, since I can set it flat.)

Wow, now that's what I call customer service. Good on ya Joel. :)

woodchuck07 says:
Yes, I got in touch with Joel and will have a brand new pod' soon to help me post up more disgustingly boring photos that seem to be getting less and less viewer time here. Thanks again is in order. Look forward to a new pod, in blue or yellow even! AND we're glad you read up what's here on the site, being a sponsor and all. (Ash, they do have it in pink too he says!)
Anykineclimb says:
wow. great customer service! I've been meaning to get one of these. Now I know they're a great company to boot.
dbrayack says:
Eww pink...no if only I can get sponsored by Gorilla Pod...
We were considering epoxying several flash stands in the roof for a future shoot =)
