this girl has the wingspan of Yao Ming and fingers of steel. nice move girl! Must have been cool out yet cuz yer' not in the tie dyed shirt sleeves yet.
badash says:
Thanks man. Yeah it was pretty cold! I should make a tye dyed sweatshirt!
Bex says:
That would be cool.
woodchuck07 says:
an entire tie dyes wardrobe. sweats, shirts, headbands, and oh yes, thongs.
gonzobeer says:
Leave it to Woody.

Bex says:
Oh woody . lol. Thongs ride horribly when climbing or did you mean flip flops (also known as thongs)
gonzobeer says:
I think he was talking about everyone's favorite undergarment.
Licentia Haud Vestigium
Bex says:
so did I but you never know. Thongs just aren't god for climbing, biking or paddling I know from past preference.
gonzobeer says:
At the risk of sounding incredibly crude, We all know thongs are good for one thing and one thing only.

I'd say Patagonia's failed attempt at selling g-strings into the climbing market proved that form follows function for sure......
Anyway.. has anyone posted a "How to Tie Dye" blog or link to other sites dedicated to the art? I always loved doing it during college and got my whole dorm hooked for a semester.
If we really wanted to get into it I'd even share some techniques for making sand candles... could be fun.
gonzobeer says:
I think I might be able to find my sisters old Bedazzler too.....seriously.

Bex says:
okay GB you bedazzle. I love sand candles. I have this book it's actually for kids it called "Ecology Crafts for Kids" amazing book. Has how to tie dye, make sand candles and all sorts of other cool crafts.

What about an E Z Bake Oven?

I had one of those really wasn't all that fun. I like my brother's toys more. I was a tomboy.
woodchuck07 says:
slove', you know we have a resident expert in the field of tie dye, Ms.badash. She will give you a primer on it.
As for the 'thong', well shame on you. Of course I meant the flip flop ones for your feet /:-? Who would ever climb in a thong, Gonzo?
Well, Bex, did I save myself with that answer??
Bex says:
no we know you meant the under garment...you wouldn't be you if you didn't. Hey how many holds would a 12'X12" wall need abouts. Dad designed a wicked 12 X 12. He so wants to make my mother nuts. We build a Dog kennels a couple years back that the dogs hate. So I keep all 4 of my kayaks and paddles and my bike it it. Dad thought we build on it. The kennel is 12 feet long 6 feet high so Dad thought we'd double the height.
woodchuck07 says:
those must have been biiig dogs!! 12 by 12 is good size. How many holds? Gee, I'm not the one to ask on that. I like so my wall has just holds for certain use, or routes. But most walls I see in gyms or on the web, well crap they have a hold about every other inch! Jammed in there. Depends on what you want to do, but guess you might as well put about 40 t-nuts in on each sheet of plywood. So maybe 200+ t-nuts total for all of your wall. Doesnt mean you need that many holds, just places to move them to when you get bored. I think I spend more time these days tweaking my wall, moving holds and such, than I do actually climbing.

this is such a cool problem!

My lab cross is 60lbs and her puppy brother (not actual brother) was a Chesapeake Bay Retriever Cross was 95lbs...but he died of a brain tumor. So I still have my lab cross, and my parents have a 40lb Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. I don't think I'll jam my holds on there maybe on every few inches. My Birthday is in July and I can get more hods for my Birthday if need be.

this is such a cool problem!
gonzobeer says:
I wanna know all about it Ash!!!! Way to try to stop the hijacking, YOU WEB PIRATES!!!!

badash says:
i tried... haha. It starts on the hold that my left hand is on. It then bumps out right and then bumps again to where my hand is in the picture. Then i get an awesome heel hook in that hold that i am looking at, where i then move my left hand to a SICK intermediate sidepull, only to bump it again to a small crimp. Then its a long move to a shelf, and then to a juggy shelf up top. Watch the SoIll video to see it being climbed!
Bex says:
That does sound like a really cool problem.
slovoodoo says:
Now that you mention the SoIll vid I recognize it... yeah that is a cool problem! MMM slopey sandstone... gotta love it!
woodchuck07 says:
the only thing I'd be bumping' on it is my head or my ass. Looks so awesome with you on it Ash'.
