Rescue lift off

Double shot shows the load up and lift off of rescue. When the victim doesn't fit fully inside the 'chopper, I ask: Which end sticks outside? His head, facing up looking at spinning blades, or his feet? Guess how we first loaded him in.

I would load him upside down, harness up the litter so he faces down watching the ground get smaller and smaller, talk about exposure.

That would be a little freaky. Feet hanging out is the proper way...knowing you Woody you'd have him looking at the rotor.

Yeah, he was in rotor-vision until we figured it might not help his heart rate during the ride to hospital

He would also get dizzy. The only way I don't puke in a Helicopter is if I'm in the little seat facing out (okay I only ride in a Bell 205) . In smaller choppers I like ride up front so I can wathc the landing.

Seconds after the incorrect load, we realized nobody inside could check his vitals if his head/neck was outside the aircraft. Nobody noticed at first when we hustled up to the chopper to get him out of there.

I'd hope you'd figure it out .
