igotta's first experience on granite was on the Dome in November of last year on the single pitch East Slab route and it was getting dark and it was cold. We tried to sneak in one more climb after doing the Third Flatiron.

I'm guessing the tyrol' is really needed when the stream gets fast and deeper? Looks like a skip across right now.

I did it earlier this summer and it was much higher. There were a couple of places we might have been able to boulder hop but since it was chilly, you didn't want to take the chance and end up getting wet!! And, come on, it's FUN. Back in the day, there was no tyrol so you had to find a way across.

yeah, I see your point. We set up a tyrolean one winter back here across a small stream just for the hell of it, to practice doing one in the snow. It is fun.  Maybe we need a 'tyrolean' thread here to show them off!  Trads' rule!!
