RockRatz is my bud, my mentor, my partner, but here is my favorite climbing partner. My Daughter Santana-seen here with me on Christmas leave, she still can't belay me yet though.

Bex says:
She's beautiful, you can tell she's Daddy's little girl. I'm my Daddy's little girl too.
Pludos says:
Thank you, and yes she is, and wouldn't have it any other way. Even at the young age of 14 has been there for me through so many things in the last 8 months, and we have grown so close through Rock Climbing probably another reason I love this sport so much!!
woodchuck07 says:
that's alot of hair to keep untangled from ropes and 'biners. Trust she has it piled up under a helmet when climbing. Gotta say sir, she doesn't have YOUR hair, does she? Give her a bucket full of concrete, a rope and a tree branch to work on perfecting those belay skills asap, so you can get some routes in too.
Pludos says:
Nope, doesn't have my hair. On the harder routes and more questionable ones, you bet she has it tucked up under a helmet, I slack up on the 5.7 top ropes she does on slab at times, but thanks to our teacher RockRatz we have been trained to seek safety first in everything we do, luckily for me RockRatz is always with me so I get my climbing in, Oh and great idea on the practicing the belay, thanks!
Rockratz says:
Are you kidding she would need a truck, not a bucket full of concrete.....
Pludos says:
yeah,yeah--Ok so I don't have the typical build for a climber:)
Rockratz says:
A mountian on a mouintain, but for a 230lb muscle freak he is good, trust me.
Bex says:
I went climbing once with a guy that was pretty much a 230lb muscle freak thank god he was belyaing me not the other way around.
woodchuck07 says:
Well I wasn't meaning the old Sierra Club belay test of catching in a body belay, a falling 100 pound bucket of concrete. Just something to get the feel of weight and rope management. Cut a 10 ft. piece of some cord so she can practice anywhere, knots and all that too. (friends will think she's into bondage' or something wierd)
Agree that working 230+ is a tough belay for anyone. thank goodness for the old fashioned sticht spring plate to manage that size.
gonzobeer says:
CW did pretty well with me, I'm 220. And he's a stick of a guy.

Bex says:
So there's hope I can maybe belay someone oh say 220lbs.
woodchuck07 says:
easily. just be sure You do the leads and they come up while you use an autoblock belay device on them.
Bex says:
Ok so I have to work on leading too. Ok.
