Good fun in the Flatirons however, my fingers were so cold by the end of this I couldn't tell if I had a hold of anything anymore or not. Glad I was on toprope.

Have you ever tried putting hand warmers like this in your chalk bag when it's cold?

I've done it a lot and it really helps. :)

PRODUCT RECALL BULLETIN!! Just heard on ABC network news tonight. The Icy Hot brand has one kind of hand warmer that has had several situations reported of 3rd degree burns due to overheating of the product. They suggest you return them to the manufacturer. Me? I'd suggest sending them all to your favorite frozen ice climbers. Somehow I think they would appreciate that kind of extra 'firepower'. Imagine watching as your boots heat up the cramps' so they melt right into the ice.

That's a really good idea. I usually don't get cold hands but the approach was fair and I think I was putting my thumbs in my shoulder straps of my pack quite a bit and I will try not to do that next time and see if I'm better but I'll try that if it doesn't help.

I've just recently bowed to pressure and lowered my pride to use warmies' in my gloves in between climbs. Feels soooo good!
Photo sure shows how that Colorado sun burns through in the cold winter air. Need your glacier glasses today I'd say.

Nice to see what the rock actually looks like. The flatirons are the first place I ever saw anybody rock climb. Wasn't till years later in the Gunks that I actually did it myself. Do they still have that 3.2 beer there?

I remember the 3.2 Coors too. Tasted like flavored water. And the double push button cans of the mid 70's. You needed bionic fingers to punch that small one in, or a handy ski pole tip. Yeah, that 3.2 was perfect for underage high schooler's partys.
Jimn72 says:
Yeah they still have 3.2 that they only sell in shopping stores and 7-11's, which are not allowed to sell 6.0. 3.2 is not sold in liquor stores and it's only real purpose is if you want to drink beer at your house on Sunday (because liquor stores are not open on Sunday) and we call it the 3.2 blues. You can honestly drink so many of them. Say you can usually drink 10 Bud Lights, 3.2 you can drink about 18.
woodchuck07 says:
Oh yeah, that's right. Now I remember teh no-Sunday thing and only finding it at fast sale outlets, not among the usual load of liquor store beer. In my youth, Adolph Coors had not yet decided to allow his brew too far East. So on any 70's road trip to Colorado, we would make our last stop in Brush or Hudson, along the interstate, and load up the vehicle to the gills with any and all kinds of Coors we could afford. Even 3.2 for 'gifts'. 164 cases under our feet and in the aisles of the bus all the way home.
