that's a funny shot. how about a 'cheater stick' clip for this one? Seems to be very socially acceptable at RRG. I'm guessing that climbers stop at a naturally comfortable 'rest to make the reach, when they actually need to move up a bit higher so the clip is an easier reach from just above a little. Looks like a quality climb, thats for sure.

probably coulda been stick clipped from the ground but, i wanted to do it myself :) the usual GOOD clipping stance is lower but i wasnt tall enough to reach. Up a bit higher and im working the first crux... it HAD to be clipped from there, it was the best clipping stance i could reach from.

WC there are several routes at HCR where the clips are almost as hard as the crux. Leading and placing the draws on these routes is a totally different game than top roping.
woodchuck07 says:
and I always thought placing a draw on a bolt was a piece of cake; compared to placing pro' on lead with no idea what goes where or if it will fit/hold.
igottagetoutside says:
i have two words for you WC... CRIMP SCAMPI. go to HCR and get on that, and then tell us all what a piece of cake clipping draws is.

can I use my 16ft cheater stick?

Looks like a new-fangled clipping method; clone anarm onto a route to clip for you.
Cheers!
woodchuck07 says:
Exactly. Just leave that arm superglued in place with a quickdraw in hand, pull the string as you pass by and Wham! - yer' clipped in. All for the basic price of $19.95
(quickdraw with biners at extra cost). I've got this mechanical arm, battery powered from Halloween, that crawls. I'm gonna put a quickdraw in its hand and test it out to see if it can do the trick.

What i REALLY needed was a well positioned mirror... a stick mirror... hmmmmmm... :D
igottagetoutside says:
that way i can see the clip around the corner, AND check my hair and makeup, at the same time! LMAO!!! someone should market this!!!!
woodchuck07 says:
I got a collapsable stick mirror just a week ago for only a buck at Walgreens. Never thought it could come in handy like that!
