I've come to realize that, once in everyone's life, they're going to hurt themselves. In high school, I blew my ACL and was out for 4 months. My buddy Matt broke his hand Mt. Biking this winter (3 months out)
Though he hurt his ankle quite bad, I'm sure that he'll be back to sending V7 high balls in no time! Note the Morphine IV and the pysched face.
I felt bad taking these photos, be he specifically asked me to (for his scrap book).

Here's the report:
Thank you for your concern about Todd. When he got to the hospital and they took x-rays it was discovered he had broken both his tibia and fibula in both legs, and shattered his left ankle. Sunday he had surgery; pins were put in both his legs to repair his tib/fib and a plate was put into his ankle. We're really surprised he was able to come home yesterday (Tuesday). He's expected to be wheelchair bound for at least 3 weeks and then begin using crutches (pretty optimistic if you ask me...). He's really grateful for everyone's help, even though we were relatively remote there was plenty of people who were eager to offer assistance. It just goes to show you what a wonderful climbing community the New fosters. Like the New River climbers, the extensive Athens climbing community is also very concerned with Todd's recovery. Thankfully our local outdoor store has been in contact with it's dealers to "help" Todd out. Since Todd's Galileo's did have to be cut off, the five.ten rep has already been been in contact with the manager to try and replace them free of charge! We are just trying to keep Todd remaining positive during his recovery. Please thank everyone for their concern and if any news arises we will let you all know.

Wow, hope he is doing much better by now. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. That's what I learned in the Marine Corps. I'm sure Todd is strong and will be back next year to tell his story. By the way, how did this happen? Take care.

Surgery is amazing today. Just get off those meds quickly. I know some people who are still not off them because they can't.... very addictive stuff. I barely took my meds and when I went off I went "cold turkey" for 2 full weeks--that's goosebumps and severe cold like you have the flu for 2 solid weeks and that's hard to sleep with...much worse if you act like you still need the drugs though and get addicted to them.
woodchuck07 says:
geez I"m glad my post surgical meds like Vicodin, etc. only were needed for a couple days. Then just quit and no after effects.
Mary Fairchild says:
A little like my recent hot pepper disaster. I put habaneros in my chilli and order extra wasabi with my sashimi....but last weekend I tried a small taste of "Endorphin Rush" and my body went weird with it.

I blew out my ACL in High School and got percoset...I took them for a few days then decided to just take the pain (which wasn't bad by then.) I didn't realize it was such a problem with pain meds

Rockratz says:
Thats probably why the army just give you Motrin and Mole Skin, no matter what the injury. :)Its their cure for every thing.
woodchuck07 says:
yep. M&M's fix it all. a few squares of moleskin will just about seal up anything.
Bex says:
Wow the army is nicer tan my mom. I get regular Tylenol and told to walk it off. That's what she said when I fell off my wall cracked my wrist and pulled everything in my right arm. No Narcotics for this kid (addictive personality)
woodchuck07 says:
Tylenol? If I fell and got hurt, I got nothing but scolded as a kid. Once I backed into a sharp edge for a catch in deep center field and cut a huge gash-flapper across my back. Should have had stitches. I got a band-aid and a drink of water.

And Febreeze RR, don't forget about the febreeze.

woodchuck07 says:
Febreze? As in after you turn your underwear inside out to wear another 5 days, next step is a spritz of Febreze' to freshen it up for the next month without laundry? What happened to a rinse out in your helmet wash pan?
gonzobeer says:
Febreze, Army Cologne.....

Rockratz says:
