Wow you look tiny.
woodchuck07 says:
And they always look so deceivingly smooth, yet they are hiding those skin rippin' nuggets and crystals all over.
Spudz says:
if there were holds on that black streak that would be an awesome route
climbingwall says:
Spudz, there are holds, they jsut happen to be," Skin rippin' nuggets and crystals" about the size of your 1 knuckle on your pinky.
Cheers!
Spudz says:
do it cw do it!
woodchuck07 says:
exactly. knuckle sized flesh rippin' knives of hellish crystals. Bleed hard and bleed often.

Bex says:
It's beautiful I now want to go.
woodchuck07 says:
It's spooky at night. The rock has strange shapes and the wind between makes sounds. Love it! Got enough large bandages and tape to patch up any holes in the body, so I guess I'm ready to go again.
woodchuck07 says:
Bex, you've heard of the Clint Eastwood movie, High Plains Drifter? THIS is the high plains part of the country, right on from Wyoming into S.Dakota and the panhandle of Nebraska. Windy, barren grasslands once full of buffalo with a few rock outcrops around like the 'Voo and Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Alive, green, but desolate in a way. I like the drive through there on I-80. It also was America's favorite spot in the 60's to place a few hundred underground Minuteman missile silos too. Even they are closed up for the most part. Just us climbers and the clean, sharp rocks left now.
Bex says:
My Dad is a Eastwood Fan, seen "High Plains Drifter". Sounds like my Kind of place.
mikitta says:
I loved my years climbing there. I miss it so badly! But in a way, it's good that we left because I have discovered Cooper's Rock, Seneca and The New River Gorge. I had never considered climbing further east than Voo before.
I will have to plan a trip home soon, though. I have a friend that will watch my kids for days ...
mmmm
Anyone want to meet me on top of the Clam Shell for a nice warm up sometime next spring?
God Bless,
mik

I'll jon ya Mik! got out to the Voo the 1st time about a month ago. pretty cool palce
climbingwall says:
mik, I'm always game for a trip to Vedauwoo, it's sorta my home turf as well. I've been climbing there for about 6 years, and although I've done alot of routes up to .11, I've come nowhere near doing a tenth of what's there.
Cheers!
gonzobeer says:
I'm certainly down for a voo trip!
