taking care of wrists

lately ive been experiencing a little pain in both my wrists . i do a job that require a lot of wrist and arm strengh , and a climb a lot. i dont want to overuse them , because there is a big background of carpal tunnel syndrome in my family . I was just wondering if anyone got any exercice or training to avoid destroying em ;P

i already do a lot of stretching back and forth and elastic exercice

got any advice? and oh sorry for my english

It could be something as simple as inflammation due to strenuous activity. Try taking an anti inflammitory like ibuprophen, and you might want to try taping your wrists at work...if you can.
Of course it couldn't hurt having it checked out, just to be sure it isn't something more serious.

Rest always helps. Also, if you can use your wrists in different ways, instead of always using the same motion. Either at work or climbing. Maybe also switching hands, train to use both hands. I hope that helps.

I've got a similar problem - lately I'm finding that massage of your forearms combined with anything anti-inflammatory like IB or topical oils/lotions + rest (unfortunately)= healing. good luck!!
