Mount Washington, Olympic Peninsula

Posted by jimjuliem on 6/28/2008

We did pretty much the standard winter route on Mt. Washington yesterday. On the Winter Route the snow is still in good shape except there is a shrund at the top that keeps one form getting on to the rock directly. We traversed left to a rock margin and did some climbing on both snow and rock up to the summit ridge. It still amazes me how simply spetacular the scenery is from the summit of this little local mountain (6280 feet). We descended the summer route. If you live in western Washington, are an alpine climber and haven't done this you should. 4 stars.
