I'm having to mark my gear due to participating in a lot of group climbs where there are several well equiped climbers. My question is what kind of marker is safe for pre sewn runners? I used a sharpie on my tubular webing but never had tro mark them where it would matter. Any way just looking for your ideas.

Well most have a very small manufacturer tag on them, but kinda small to write on it. Me? I'm a nail polish person and paint it on that tag as a starter, or put color tape somewhere where it won't peel off during use.

Thanks I to, am a fan of fingernail polish!(To mark gear) A dot on the tag would be a good solution. Thanks

Just saw some kind of a rope marker for like 12 bucks at mountaingear.com. They're on backorder until late April, but looks like a way to mark runners and midpoint of a rope. Well worth it if you haven't purchased a newer rope with midpoint already marked. The nail polish can chip off hardware, or come loose from flexing of the runners I suppose, but it works for now.

use a "rub a dub" laundry marker. it recommended by rescue organizations and it won't cost you $12

thought they were also unfriendly chemically to nylon and such. permanent marking I trust..

Sharpies are bad (although they do make one safe for marking ropes) Rub a Dub, on the other hand, is safe for ropes. the new Beal rope marking system looks pretty nice though
