Looking for some good bouldering and sport climbing in and around Northern Vermont

Posted by aintlifegrand on 8/3/2007

Hey I'm moving up to Vermont this fall for school and I'm looking for some good climbing spots in Northern Vermont, and even some places worth travelling a little farther to like New Hampshire, the rest of Vermont, and even upstate New York.
I've heard a little about Smuggler's Notch but that's about it.

Also if you know any local comps and events and such it would be greatly appreciated!

PLENTY! year round!!! smuggs, bolton, and other hidden places in northern vt. RUNMEY, nh is only about 2 hrs from burlington, and then you have all of the other cliffs/craggs in the white mountains right around the corner. across the pond in NY there are places in the adirondaks.... your best source for local BETA is the outdoor gear exchange (www.gearx.com). really nice, down to earth folks there. also climb high (www.climbhigh.com), and there is also an EMS (www.emsonline.com) in south burlington. where will you be going to school?????

peace, yo!

I'm going to Sterling College in Craftsbury Common, about an hour and a half from Burlington. I can't wait to get up there and see what there is to climb!!
