Groups: Climb Nashville

Hey guys,
I heard a little something about "Little Rock City" today and I've never heard of it before. I was wondering what you guys thought of it. How close to Nashville is it? Easy to access? Thanks!

hell yeah i can!

Heres the deal:

It's probably 1 and a half hours away... maybe more, maybe less. (but probably more!) But well worth it no matter what.

And what do I think about it? I think that I can back up ALOT of people by saying its one of the best crags in the SOUTHeast. High quality, numberous, awesome, fun problems scattered in an open field surrounded by a golf course. Beautiful place. It's like a playground. It amazes me everytime, and I've been there too many times to count.

Easy to access? Hell yeah! Really short hike. Shortest hike i've taken for a crag besides HP40, but nothing really beats that... wait except Elephant Rocks. And now im getting off topic. But yeah - totally easy to access. There is special "climbing parking" and its a short hike from there. If you have further questions you can ask.

And one more REALLY important thing: You HAVE to have a pass to climb there. I dont think they started charging yet, or if they are still going to do that, but you still need to get a pass every time you go. The owners dont want it to get too crowded, so there is only a certain amount of people allowed there a day.

SO, with this being said, heres what you have to do:

1. go to www.seclimbers.org

2. on the column to the left, the 10th link down it says "LRC Access"

3. when you click it, there will be a lot of little bullets with reminders and info about the place... read on!!! It also includes info on your FIRST visit, so READ IT!

4. after you have read it, click the thing that says you "agree to the above"

5. and it will bring you to a page where you will create a username and password if you havent already.

6. register, and right down your password!

7. The morning that you climb, you will have to log on and print a pass and a parking pass... try to carpool if possible, they love when people do that!

man i just made it sound so complicated but its soooo easy. When are you thinking about going? Summer sucks for bouldering - its ROUTE season! I recommend going there in the Fall and winter - its the prime time!

HAVE FUN!!! Hope this helped!

Cool, thanks for the info. I live in Clarkesville so it'd be a little trip but I think it would be worth it. Thanks again.

no littering D.F.
if the owner saw a cig. on the ground he would start charging.

word, i dont think littering is allowed anywhere. But be especially careful about it there. Afterall, we are LUCKY that it is opened to us! I go around picking up cigarette butts and trash so that the place is folling the rules under LEAVE NO TRACE. And no prob for the info. I see you are a member of the Climb Nashville group on here.... do you climb there?

I love little rock city, there are some sweet boulder problems there. I have only been during the triple crown though.

Yeah, I climb at Climb Nashville. Usually on Saturdays. I had to take a brake for a couple of months because of some work out of town but I'm back into the swing of things now and just got a membership. You've seen me there but we haven't formally met.

I've seen you? ha cool! I hardly ever go on Saturdays unless I'm working... I'm usually resting for a trip or getting ready for a trip. (I climb outside on Sundays and mondays... and occassionaly saturdays...) But yeah - cool. Maybe if i saw a pic i would recognize you? If you see me, introduce yourself. okay?!
