Tell me about your favorite piece of climbing clothing. The one you wear over and over. (You can even add a photo of you wearing it when you post your answer.)
I love my Sapho capris by Verve! They are loose and really comfortable, and the are made of strong enough fabric that they don't pill and are warm enough. They come in tons of great colors too! You can check them out at verveclimbing.com.
a pair of army surplus pants. I'm waaay over the camo pattern but they are very comfortable, with no restriction to my movment. A simple velcro adjustment that means no buckles or buttons to dig into me under my harness. Decent cargo pockts too. Important to me because they are the only pockets I can realistically use after my harness is on. To date I've found nothing that comes close to these pants by any brand name companies.
I like Patagonia hemp jeans for everything. They are super light, they dont bunch up, they look good, and you can smoke them. I don't know how to get a picture of them on this but I am wearing them on my personal icon. My dog is inbetween them.
I can't do the jeans thing. Maybe becuase I am a girl and girl jeans are tighter than boy jeans, but I am always afaid they are going to rip. I like the stretchy fabrics.
My $12 fleece sweater from Wal-Mart with the fabric-paint print of the Monster ice tool on it. I deeply enjoy wearing this garment around all the other climbers whose total clothing bill that they have on at the crag exceeds the value of my pickup truck. Second would be my camo sale-rack snowboard pants, talk about loud. Otherwise my fleece pullover that I got for competing at Festiglace, I wore it through the comp'and for some hard sends, now whenever I put it on and it warms up it smells like FEAR, something I never fail to appreciate.
Otherwise I like anything free, T-shirts, hats, gloves, anything that allows me to avoid spending money on clothing so I have that cash to dump fuel in the tank so I can get to the crag and get back to scaring the sh*t out of myself.
levis cords (dark brown and roomy) and a collared shirt. my buddies wife makes fun on me and calls me the metrosexual climber. a future photo will have my shirt buttoned to the top, reading glasses (with tape), and a pencil protector in my pocket (but I'll be pulling some sick move)
In response to cbear's comment about brown levis cords and collared shirt. well, your buddy's wife might laugh at your appearance, but I can vouch that heaps of girls love the strong geeky look. There's just something appealing about strength and intellegence!
Who else agrees?

Here he is, asking for support. Cbear and I laugh at his dressing as well. We both know that his "climb to your own drum" motto is something that sets him apart from all the rest. Last week, I dropped the "manpris'" and donned a new "instyle" look,,,,,,jeans...jumping on the fashion wagon as well. We have yet to remember the pocket protector to complete the job. For all those that want to climb with cbear, just remember, I found him first. After I have graduated from his mentoring, then you might have a turn. (if your lucky) :)
Fear knocks at your door, faith answers, no one is there.
Prana pants. It seems like Prana is the Abercrombie of climbers. It's the best clothing company out there, for sure. I also have about 30 different climbing shirts - shirts from comps, gyms, and give-aways. I don't really buy any clothes. I either win them or I am given them.. its the best way to go!
A pair of KUHL brown sort of corteroy pants. I bought them on sale, they have always been at least 2 sizes to big in the waist and like 2 inches too long. They are durable on the rock or hiking through brush and thorns. They keep you warm, but are cool enough in the summer, especially if you roll them up. Super soft fabric. Extra stitching to avoid ripping as easy.
oh...really?cause sometimes some things are more expensive if you buy them in a foreign country..
well they are expensive but sooo nice..i have a patagonia's bra,i use it as a top..it makes me always dry it's so comfortable ..the only problem is that with this top my chest seems like a surfboard...
mother nature was not kind with me.. and the top doesn't help..
=(
If you like, but who cares what other people think? You have to live inside your own body so it is better that you feel your body is beauCiao'tiful, you will then radiate this aura to other people so they will see that you are a beautiful person, and hopefully a good climber!
Personally I prefer petite women, petite women that can send are even better.
Hmmm... Why don't you get some Monsters and try Dry-tooling? With your bouldering you would be a natural at it!
patagonia is awesome. I would have never bought it if i didnt get it free... because i cant afford it. But man, the pants are soooo nice to climb in. and not to mention, probably the most comfortable clothing ever.
Badash - What kind of pants did you buy? I climb in the hemp jeans ( as seen in my previous comment ) and they are unbeatable. I have a hard time affording thier stuff also, I however am lucky because I live a mile from the Patagonia Denver store and in the fall and spring they have a huge sale anywhere from 30 - 60% off. Come to Denver and climb, shop and hang out in spring or fall.
Any pair of tough cotton pants. Preferably dark so I can wear em for weeks on end without people questioning my sanitary habits(as if I really care anyway). I'm working on getting a pair of Patagonia Power Cords, but am having a hard time forking out 70 bills for a pair of pants. Hopefully I will get some before too long.
A pair of vintage jeans, of course, they were new when I bought them, nice and bright and shiny. And a Beanland t-shirt, I have no idea what 'Beanland' is at all, but I bought the shirt for 50 cents at a thrift store in Austin. It's says 'Rising from the riverbead' on the back, which I think is cool.
Wow, I'm an idiot, I never put the two together, but Beanland is a jam band from Mississippi, Hmmmmm, I need to lay off it......:) I remember seeing them at several festivals.......... maybe that's why I didn't remember.
Hello, i like my chess pants. Everyone say this is ridiculous, and it is similar to a pajamas, but i use them at the same way. In my photo pages have one with this very beautiful pants... i think...
I'm surprised nobody said 'climb nekked' yet. My favorite pants were my original beige Chouinard double layer canvas tough-as-nails pants. Yeah, they took a few weeks to break in, but comfy, roomy, and served the purpose for a beating on big walls. They've been out of production since the late 80s I fear, and might be similar to the Pategonia Power Cords now? Mine either shrank suddenly or I gained 4 inches in my waist since. You take a guess which it is./;-(

Black Target capri and my Hound Ear shirt from 3 years ago. They're so worn in and comfertable. Nothing can replace them.

Just my regular jeans and t-shirts as well.
Have a friend who swears that wearing at least one piece of Prana merchandise helps him climb one grade harder :)

prana pants and some comp. shirt

Jeans and a climbing trash T-shirt...you know, so people knowz I'm a climber.

I've got some of the rattiest, lame or crude climbing shirts collected from over the years. They always are welcome fashion out on the crags.
