How did I ever get myself into this? Oh yeah, I had a daydream moment that turned into real life. I was daydreaming about winning a climbing comp after I read the thread on this site requesting we sign up for the Regional Championships at BRC as reporters and competitors. Suddenly, a few days later, I received an e-mail that said I had won a spot. Now what do I do. I think I will hit Thrillseekers everyday between now and then so when I come in next-to-last, I JUST WANT TO BEAT NEAL, I can say that I over-trained! Sounds much better than "I just suck." Also, because I will be taping, and photographing the event, as well as writing it up in realtime, I can also use the excuse that my fingers are worn out, otherwise I could have finished that problem, instead of failing to get both feet off the ground. I hope they have a most creative costume division, because I might be climbing in Daisy Dukes and my leather biker chaps. Hey, if I get to climb 1st, maybe the other climbers will be too ill to climb after seeing me. One can only hope.

Anyway, this thing is going to be about just having fun, and meeting like-minded people. If I get off the ground on just one problem, I will have surpassed all of my expectations. I'm looking forward to having a GREAT time, and hope to communicate that feeling to all of you. And if I beat Neal, so much the better.

good luck man. I would anything to see someone bouldering in leather chaps. that's awesome! wish I lived in colorado so I could get in on the action. but have fun with it cause that's what it's all about.
