Bouldering Route

Posted by ylfoo on 8/29/2007

Well, well, well, after some delay and time available, I finally come up with the bouldering route which shows the climbing sequences for the Fully Instrumented Climbing Wall.
It takes a while to come up with the bouldering route as there are 8 transducers available to detect the force distribution on the wall. 8 transducers equals to 8 climbing holds.

Final Year Project Part 1 (Dyno)

Posted by ylfoo on 8/22/2007

Route setting on the Fully Instrumented Climbing Wall is the main headache and yet challenging in the initial stage of the Final Year Project.
Right now, the Fully Instrumented Climbing Wall has 8 transducers. Which means I have to set a dyno move (which is pretty easy) and a circuit route (very CHALLENGING) using only 8 transducers each time on the wall. Ops what is transducer? It is a device that can detect force applied on it and record and display the results on the computer via a cable. Simple to understand right? I believe you have got it. haha

Motivation of the Final Year Project

Posted by ylfoo on 8/5/2007

Lets mention about my drive in my Final Year Project on the fully instrumented climbing wall.

The fully instrumented climbing wall was built in NTU biomechanics lab. Two climbers had tried to climb and data were collected, which showed a possibility to begin an analysis using the wall.

It was just like a new land waiting for people to explore it, various experiments could be designed using the climbing wall and the secret of climbing would be reveal someday.

Natural Bouldering At Krabi, Thailand

Posted by ylfoo on 6/18/2007
Groups: i boulder.

The Sun , the Sand and the Sea fully describes the climate in Krabi Thailand. Suffering from sun burnt, glaring sun shine and humid weather but the impressive and numerous climbing and bouldering routes make it up for that.
