Post flood...TS FAY

Posted by rosieclimber11 on 9/12/2008 on rosieclimber11's blog

Well, this is the price we pay to live in Florida, my house way flooded a few weeks back in Fay, good news is that it could've been much worse and while the construction crews are finishing up, there is much left to do. I have been climbing and working on some endurance training. I sadly had to reschedule my trip, which would been this weekend. But I plan to go up to Looking Glass at the end of October, I've been busting ass at home getting our life and home back together and really need and deserve some time for me....hope everyone is well.

Days of Future Past

Posted by woodchuck07 on 9/9/2008 on woodchuck07's blog
sweet looking for sure, eh?

Yeah, when I was living in a land of make believe....somewhere in the late 80's. Spoke earlier this week of mixing lycra and trad gear when sport climbing.   So here is the lycra era as it hit in the Euro 80's.  Note the lovely bone structure and muscles.  Plus a pink/purple pair of high top Resin Rose shoes. Are we talkin' baaaad?    Cheers to Rockman and his chevron black and yellow glitter look on the rocks too. Kamet shoes too, which actually had pretty good rubber.

Prana is sooo much better to see out there today in place of the spandex era.

NH White Mountains

Posted by badger10762 on 8/30/2008 on badger10762's blog

Scrambled up Jefferson again. Caught in a T Storm for the 2nd time in two summers. Nothing like desending into the storm and into the alpine. Clear as day ontop, murky and winding near the tree top.

Going nowhere

Posted by woodchuck07 on 8/25/2008 on woodchuck07's blog

Well it was another evening of scampering up plywood and plastic here in the flatlands of Illinois.  So bored I'm making up strange variations and modified route finding on the backyard wall. This effort came from a series of moves that kind of dead ended on the hanging pinnacle with nowhere to go.  Solution?  More nails, plywood, hinges, screws and whatever it takes to add more challenges to the hulking climbing thing out back.  Next week: Real rocks down at the Red in Kentucky!!!

CAT SLAB CC / Open but

Posted by ff113 on 8/4/2008 on ff113's blog
Groups: Colorado Springs RockRatz

Local word is the cat slab is open. I went their last Thursday and a for sale sign was up and the no trespassing sign was down. We were having a great day when I went for a perfect finger lock on old d. I soon discovered that a YELLOW JACKET nest was in the hole. Within seconds I was screaming batting my face and leaped off the rock. My partner was wondering what the heck I was doing. With the noise of the road he did not hear me. After the swarm ended I climbed back up to my quick draw replaced it quickly with a beaner and lowered. Then I ripped through my gear to find my Epi pen.
