Me, RRHuney and the kids are heading to Texas Ft Worth area for ThanksGiving. I saw a climbing area in Mineral Wells, TX at the lake i was wondering if anyone had some info on the area or know where i can get a guide book or even if some of you live near there a guide :)

Well i must say we had an awsome day at the comp yesterday. Thanks to all the rockratz that showed up to help out, im not sure how they would have been able to run the comp with out us. A special thanks to erica44 for photoing the entire competition she did a great job, and i cant wait to see the pictures. Here are the results for the comp.

Leigha (my Daughter) Placed 2nd in girls youth division. She was fantastic but so tired did 5 leads.

Pludos Placed 2nd in Masters. He did an awsome job he did 7 leads 4 10's 3 9's and it paid off.

The competition will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Red Rock Canyon Open Space in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

August 3-5, 2007.

At Crimpie's request, let's examine the beta for the Boogaloo. I'm thinking many people will fly into Denver or wherever they may have friends and ride to Wyoming with them. This also allows some climbing in Colorado in and around the weekend. But let's look at some other possibilities. Here's a Google map link to the turnoff on Vedauwoo Road.

In case you missed it in the local paper, there is a series of lectures on the background of Red Rock Canyon Open Space on certain Thursday nights this summer that you may find of interest.  The first one was quite informative and subjects yet to be covered include the geology and paleontology of the area.  The details from the Friends of Red Rock Canyon website are at:
