Business Startup.....Need Help!

Posted by gonzobeer on 10/24/2007

So. Recent events in my life have got me to thinking either finally move out to Oregon and work for my buddy as a rock guide, or really try to startup the climbing shop that I've been thinking about for years.

Problem is, I really don't know how to acess resourses for a startup, does anyone know of any grants, programs, or good small business loan companies/organizations?

I really don't know where to start, I mean I do, I kinda know what I need to do. However I would like to hear from people that own or have started up business to give me a hand.

Safe and sound at Miguels

Posted by gonzobeer on 10/11/2007
Groups: Rocktoberfest / Petzl Roc Trip

After much trouble leaving Louisville today I have landed safely at Miguels, First order of business, EAT!

The normal two hour drive turned more into 3+ and I was hungry. Next up camp. I couldn't find my tent, remembering that I lent it to a buddy for yosemite for a month.......that was 6 months ago. So I borrowed my boss' tent and found that it was missing some key pieces, no worries though. I had to of looked like a complete dumbass trying to put this thing together.

SO far I've already met a guy from Cali and a guy from Colorado playing 'Set'

Revelations from the Red

So I've come to the conclusion that after eating two meals at Miguels then coming home and ordering Dominos is NOT a good idea. I hate dissapointment.
It's ok though. Yesterday was one of the best times climbing I've had in quite some time. Not just because I actually had time off work to make the two hour drive without worry, which did have alot to do with it.
My friend Jason brought a friend of his, Scott, who had never been to the Red, been climbing, or had an Ale8.

Discrimination

So, I noticed something today whilst shopping around for some new rubber. Most all of the higher end shoes only come in sizes up to around a 12. What about those ( like me) who wear 13's, am I destined only to climb mid range trad and hang out in the gym all day?
Just annoying, I want a pair of barracudas, but alas, unless my feet shrink, I'm screwed.

Damn you all and your small feet!

-See, being tall isn't all it's cracked up for to

The tired ramblings of crazed culinarians

It was once said: Work is for those who live above their means.

Ok so I just made that up-But true it rings nonetheless-I sit here scratching the ears of the only constant in my crazed-wackedout life, as of recently anyway, and I ponder why it is that I put myself through this.
I don't have to work 16+hours a day to survive. Truly I barely have to work 2 or 3 a day. So why do I sacrifice my mental health and physical well being to do so?
If you're looking for an answer to that now I must admit: I don't know.
