Who needs Mallorca when you have Moab? It is ABSOLUTELY SWELTERING in Moab, so today we spent the majority of the day in water. First, a swim across Ken's Lake (the local reservoir). Cody -- my dog -- has managed to learn to swim all the way across, although his slightly panicked expression is rather funny. After swimming, I thought I should get around to important things like mowing lawns, doing laundry and unpacking, but then the idea came up to go deep water bouldering in lower Mill Creek. There's a great little swimming hole surrounded by sandstone, so we checked out some climbing. It was a little unnerving because when you jump from the top you have to jump from a specific location in order to hit the deepest part. Plus, when you start climbing out it's more like shallow water bouldering than anything. Pretty exciting stuff. Deep water -- or shallow water -- bouldering, moab style. This is it!

I agree, this is one of the places to be on a hot Moab day.
Elevated Zero says:
If Katie or anyone else is in Utah and interested in shallow water bouldering should check out Straight Canyon near Orangeville. There are dozens of areas full of sick climbs above the creek. If Katie needs a guide she should let me know.
