Well I'm taking the blog plunge. I started this a few weeks ago on Blog Spot but decided there would be a better audiance here.
I'm training for another week at a climbing school in Colorado. I found a good hook up that is challenging and difficult without being overwhelming and not fun. This Blog is about getting there. I'm a typical almost 50 something woefully out of shape from kids, 2 jobs, girlfriends and other distractions that living in the flatlands entails. Also the last time I did this the altitude shift going from 500 feet to 7 to 10 thousand really degraded my endurance.
The physical training and finacial planning started about 4 months ago. In the next post I'll list the physical goals and note some of the climbing trips that will be leading up to this.

Weight loss. That's my main goal. I can't expect my older out of shape tendons to haul up an extra 30 lbs of deadweight in their deteriorating condition. If I can't lose the weight, it will continue to be hopeless. Can't see ( or some days even reach) my shoes to tie them up.

Oh by the way, being the 'featured blog' for right now, I must ask the community: WHERE is a GREAT New Years Eve party in my dull, flat locale? Anybody out this way throwing a wild bash and willing to invite a fun guy (me)to it? Woodchuck needs some new thrills this coming Eve.!

Wish I could help you with a good party. Looks like I'll be home keeping score between drunks and cops. Climbing buddies are out Diving and flying back from family and climbing trips. I so gotta get a life.

Just saw weather will bring in some snow, so I might go out and night ski or snowshoe around to make the drunks really feel messed up!
