YourClimbing.com's enthusiast-in-chief Katie Brown has spent the last couple of weeks enjoying the cool temperatures, tasty rock and mild Molson flavor of Canada; Lake Louise and Canmore to be more specific. Lucky for us, she discovered an internet connection in the land of the maple leaf.
Things started a bit rough for the intrepid traveler, as crag dog Cody quickly found himself a new fashion-forward accessory to wear, and Katie found herself with a flat tire. Alas, the deep water solo mission eventually resumed in chilly fashion.
The cold didn't stop with the water either: on a trip up to Lake Louise Katie and crew encountered a bit of August snow and some Canadian packing advice.
Word then came down the pipeline that a Mallorca, Spain, trip had been tabbed for next month, so Katie took to the cliffs to fine tune her wanting water landing form.
With said form improved, it was back to the roped climbs. And after a day of trying to quit coffee, the ensuing effects and a valuable lesson learned about why one should never abandon the magical powers of java, it was back on the caffeine for Katie.
Be sure to get the pictures and details of her Canadian escapades in her blog, Rock Talk.

This week we've got two extra special video treats from our own Katie Brown. If you haven't noticed (and we're not sure why anyone wouldn't), she's traveled to two juicy climbing spots in the last two months - South Africa and Alberta, Canada. YourClimbing.com armed her with a video camera, and she's come back with some great footage. Headlining the double feature is her long awaited epic from South Africa that she just finished days ago -- well worth the wait! The second on the billing comes from her more recent jaunt up north -- a little taste of Canmore deep water soloing. Bravo!
