FLICK FEATURE: Access Fund submission - keep it clean!

This week we're highlighting the first submission to our Access Fund Boulder Project Video Contest. Erica44 shot and edited this funny yet impacting piece with the help of fellow Colorado Springs Rockrats Pludos and Rockratz.

There's still a week and a half left until we close the contest, so be sure to use these next two weekends to make your own masterpiece! There's an Osprey Aether 60 pack (valued at $219), and an Osprey Daylite pack ($50) at stake! (As well as being credited with the latest Access Fund video AND the ability to sleep soundly knowing you've helped the climbing community and environment.)

ROCK TALK: Girl on the South African Rocks

YourClimbing.com's enthusiast-in-chief Katie Brown joined Lisa Hathaway on a journey to South Africa's famed Rocklands boulders, where there's epic climbing opportunity but little internet access.

She's only able to check in about once a week, and the brief reports about their adventures with Wills Young and Lisa Rands, baboons, green hair and driving on the left side of the road only leave us salivating either for more or for a free plane ticket to South Africa.

To ease our KB withdrawal, she left us with an excerpt from her forthcoming book Girl on the Rocks. It's a list of the top ten tips to maximize your bouldering day.

BLOGS OF ROCK: One nation, under blog

This week's blog log kick starts with a Malibu dispatch from the Traveling Climber, Human Crashpad. Up in the Rockies, the Colorado Springs Rockrats continue their various gatherings, writings, and fashion creations, while on the other side of the world ylfoo checked in with a review of the Instrumented Climbing Wall. Bumluck is off route, and rurounivash has some helpful advice for everyone writing blogs.

Finally, the climbing world was dealt a tragic blow with the unexpected death of Michael Reardon. Many YourClimbers posted updates as initial news of his disappearance filtered in from Ireland, and then shared their thoughts and memories of Michael when he was pronounced dead - check them out here. Everyone at YourClimbing.com wishes to extend their condolences and best wishes to Michael's friends and family. Rest in peace...
