We returned last night from our maiden voyage to the Creek, and oh man(!), I’m already planning a return trip in late May/early June. That place is so radical. Monday afternoon/evening, a scant two clouds set off the deep blue of the sky, which in turn, set off the blacks and reds of the cliffs. The green of spring filled the desert floor. It was a day of pure hues. I also enjoyed zenning out with the resident bovine. These gentle creatures wandered near our campsite to graze. As long as we didn’t move around too much, they’d hang out and munch away.
The climbing proved stellar and it left me greedy for more. I’m well on my way to becoming a crack glutton. We had to bail before I could hit up my big on-sight goal though. I had a wicked friction blister on my left foot—a first. It must have been all of that incessant foot jamming. When beset with friction blister, the afflicted go to Friction Slab, which was the weird way we ended our trip. I couldn’t jam, but I could smear. Anyway, I’ll post some pics when I find my camera.
At a campground soiree, we ran into some Swedes, one of whom was going to tackle Optimator the next day. I hope he got it.
We missed the Team Trash Rendezvous, unfortunately. Maybe I can swing it next year.
Catch ya later! I gotta go find a way to buy more cams so I can do more of these routesJ.

Glad to hear you had a good time at the Creek Ped. Sounds like you're a fiend for the Creek now. Yeah, I'm sorry we missed you guys too. It would've been fun I'm sure. Well, find that camera and lets see some action shots.

ped says:
Yeah, the Creek is bad ass. It's 6 1/2 hours from my house, so I guess it's just close enough for long weekends. I'm a Creek fiend in the making.

It's 6 hours from my place. Let me know when you're going again and maybe I'll be able to meet up with you guys and bring my friends...

ped says:
Yeah, that's a rack to behold for sure. I'll def let you know when I'm down Indian Creek way.
climbingtrash says:
It's nice having all of those cams but makes for a Damn heavy pack. hahaha...when we gonna see some more pics from the trip?

Thanks Cap'n...I also just added a couple of orange Metolius cams to the mix. One tri and one quad. (really sick of my rigid Wild Countries in that size)
