Hey, gang. I have the sad news to report that the Enthusiast Group, parent company of YourClimbing.com, is closing its doors at the end of November. (Don't panic! We're expecting to keep the site going -- probably with new owners.)
Among my tasks is getting a couple boxes of (very cool) YourClimbing.com t-shirts out of my office. ... Please help!
I've bumped the price down to a bargain-basement $6, plus shipping. (They originally sold for $20.)
There aren't that many left, so order now if you want your size.
(I'll keep you posted about the future of the site. Think good thoughts for us!)

I would be bummed if the site closed down. :( :( Wish I had some marketing experience.

Same here. I'm the worst economist/marketing kind of person. Hope you can find the right support for continuation of site.

Really sorry to hear that Steve. You guys have done a great job with this site and I would be extremely disappointed to see it shut down. But I'm really sorry to hear that you are closing the doors to the enthusiast group. I hope your doing OK with it all.

Are you going to still be a member of this site and check up on it? Is katie still the enthusiast in chief?
You've done a great job! Thanks for all the hard work and all the help when its needed.

Ash: For now Katie is still enthusiast-in-chief. We haven't heard from her lately because she had an unfortunate car break-in and lost her laptop. I'm guessing that since we haven't heard from her in a while, she has yet to recover.
We're attempting to sell the site so that it continues; a great community has formed here so I'd hate to see that die. It'll be up to the new owner to decide on enthusiast-in-chief, so I'm not sure about Katie. (I hope there will still be a place for her.)
I'll keep everyone posted on what happens. I'm pretty confident that one way or another, the site will continue.
One thing I find odd (and frustrating) is that the climbing magazines (the most obvious buyers for the site) are reticent to get involved in "social media" like YourClimbing.com. I said in another post that I'd love it if climbers who value this site lobby the publishers to take a look at taking over the website. Thanks!

How would we go about lobbying the publishers?
