Indian Summer

Posted by katie on 11/21/2007 on katie's blog

The weather continues to be beautiful here in Utah. Indian summer continues in full force and the climbing is non-stop. I fear it is about to come to a close very
soon, but I'm actually looking forward to a bit of winter. Thanksgiving is going to be spent in Moab with friends. Mill Creek or Indian Creek, I'm not sure which, but either will be wonderful. In fact, looking at my hands now as I type, they are covered in tape gook from tape gloves -- a true sign that crack climbing season is about to be in full swing. (I went crack climbing for the first time since last winter this past weekend.) It always takes a while to get back into the pain and agony of crack climbing after sport climbing and bouldering all summer, but it's well worth it.

Katie! so good to hear from you! I never think of Utah desert areas having 'Indian Summer' to the extent as we do back home in Ky. or midwest. I always picture year round climbing in 80 temps. Have a nice Thanksgiving with friends and best of luck on your search for a good place to stay in SLC area. ( will you become a serious ice climber in those canyons near SLC if you move there?)

If you decide to head down to Indian Creek, a few of us will be there. Just look for DJ's silver Airstream.

So Katie, here it is a month later. Are you still out enjoying the desert rock in Utah or have you moved inside for the winter months now? Fill us in sometime before the holidays are over. Merry Christmas to friends and all.
