woke up early. got picked up and picked up dylan then we were off.
i wasnt sure what to expect for my first time climbing outdoors so i was kinda nervous.
got to miguels and got something to eat and drink. then we were off to muir valley. first outdoor climb and first ever outdoor flash was fun. i jumped on little viper and finished it after some problems on the crux. then i started to mess around on hey there fancy pants while i was trying to decide the next climb i should do. so then i decided to go for it. i didnt want to get hyped up about it so i called take every clip in conserving my energy. i got to the 4th clip and decided not to rest so i went for it, realizing how hard it was i called take. i messed around on it for 10 minuts then deciding to just get let down. my friend adam finished it after a few tries on the crux i got stuck on. then it started raining after we did this easy long fun route so we headed back to the camping zone. i ate then went bouldering up at coffea shop. then later went to sleep after alot of bathroom visits draining the ale8 out of me. then i was woken up by dylan and we packed up and headed up to the zoo. we didnt feel like climbing at that spot so we went to roadside. i climbed jump for joy but didnt finish it. then i almost ran into a copperhead that was a foot from me. thats basicaly it for now.
latr all.

ha hey man im leaving right now to go to the red... i'll be at the motherLOAD, so maybe i'll see you there?! And last time it was SUPER last minute. We were at this cavefest and all the sudden we were just like, "hey lets go to the red!" And I didnt have internet access to tell you........

I'm with you 'Gbeer.. she 'stood me up' too. We're not worthy of climbing in the 'Ash level of routes I guess. I was at the 'Load' today and just scoped out the dozens of well known named climbs that I will NOT be doing very soon. Depressing. I might as well have been carrying around a rack of hex nuts and a hammer, as I couldn't have already felt so out of place. Still learing the new language. Like "Dirt me". Can I get a 'catch' from you on this? Confused an old tradd'ie like me.
badash says:
Thats funny, because my friends were JUST talking about those two new additions to the climbing lingo. I mean, they are not THAT new but it feels like you hear it more at the Red --- at least I did when I went last time...
woodchuck07 says:
agree. I've not been here for 5 years so it could be old to me, but heard them all day. Dirt me' is soooo real in the tan dirt and sand at 'Lode. Kid laid out, belaying on his back and came up totally dirted, matched to the soil and rock.
