For some reason I got the random urge to post...
If you guys are old school YourClimbing folks, you might remember me. In case you forgot, I'm ashley... you can call me badash, ash, the dialated monkey, flashley, radash, or anything else.
I honestly have no idea why i stopped posting here, I guess I've been climbing alot...
Life is good.
This blog is getting nowhere... but i just wanted to make an online appearance after being absent a while...
Hope everyone is doing well.
P.S. Woodchuck- i got your email about you breaking your leg when i was in a rush - i meant to reply but i forgot until right now. I Hope you are doing okay!? I sprained my ankle last month right before nationals... not too good!

SHE LIVES!!!! Yeehaaaa!! Ash! Glad I checked back in late tonight. So good to hear from you again here. I would imagine a sprained ankle has slowed you down just a bit. Glad you have found some good climbing time though. Guessing you might be off school this vacation week, thus have some plans to get out somewhere if the weather is right. Me? yeah, I'm busted up pretty good, and will miss my plans to get out to Vegas for RRR all next week. Hope to be walking by May, rehab, and maybe climb once again in late summer. I will miss my 3 trip plans to RRG for sure.
Keep us posted of your latest routes too!
badash says:
Yeah I sprained it pretttty freakin bad. It was like 23 or so days before nationals, so i took all that time off, and then after nationals i took it easy. Now it doesnt hurt to walk, but sometimes i will step weird and roll it - but the pain only lasts about 10 minutes at a time, i guess my ankle is just loose right now... its still swollen...
and as for routes, i am still in denial about bouldering season ending... so... im not into routes yet. I love bouldering too much!

From time to time I wonder about you. I hope all is well and heal fast.

Oh Ash, of course with my broken leg I feel for you. My accident was on March 1st. Be sure to support that ankle as much as you can. I also fell and rolled my left ankle back in fall '06' and it ruined any ice climbing or skiing that winter. I was just getting full strength back by the '07 summer trips to RRG. It does have a tendency to want to roll again, so keep a snug wrap on it, or.. (heaven forbid!) wear HIGH TOPS to climb in!! Haaah! Now that would be soooo old school trad' for you, wouldn't it? Bet you could get a pair cheap on e-Bay./;-)
badash says:
Yeah, its actually getting alot better now, i've been climbing outside all week..
There is the occasional "F--K, F--K, F--K, OWWWW" where i manage to roll it when i step on a big stick or something, but the pain eventually goes away the same day.
Ankle injuries suck!!!

Good to see you on the site Ash. I can't believe you were in Boulder and you didn't get a hold of me to climb. I'll forgive you most likely, but get a hold of me next time and we can get you hooked on trad. Oh the freedom to climb up anything, anywhere, anytime you want.
climbingwall says:
Yeah, I live just 30 minutes from Boulder, and you never wrote, called, sent a pigeon, nothing. So, how did you place, I would like to know. Oh, yeah, welcome back.
For the rest of you guys, as I'm writing this, I'm on a short break from the hospital, Social Butterfly, my wife, is there now preparing to be induced so I should have a new "Rockrat" before I get back on this site.
Well, gotta go, or I'll be in BIG TROUBLE when I get back to hospital.
Cheers!

Hey CW, she was probably under the watchful eye of somebody while out there since she's like underage and all.....and couldn't get free from the comp scene. ( don't feel bad, she ' stood me up' at the RRG last summer too!) She's playin' us all, man!! We'll just have to get over it on our own...../;-)

Good to see you back. I, myself am making a largely ignored return.

Boulder was awesome. I am really attracted to that place. I will definitely live there sometime - for a little bit. Oh and the reason I didn't tell you guys was A. because i didnt know you lived in boulder and B. because i was there for bouldering nationals and a college visit so i didnt even think of it.
Woody, i stood you up at the red? what? When?
Gonzo, yah, I didn't miss ya either.
woodchuck07 says:
Oh just teasing...it was that time last summer , in August, when you hoped to be there, same week I was, but your ride was already a full carload so you had no way to get there.
So what college visit did you go for? Da' Buffalos of UC Boulder? Or up the road to CSU in Fort Collins? Anything north of Denver or south by Colorado Springs is great too, for living and climbing. Bet you had a nice time out there.
climbingwall says:
Woody, it's CU Boulder, a mistake that could get you hurt by some of the crazy loonies that attend.
Cheers!
badash says:
Yeah the university was pretty cool but I don't think I could go there.
Ohhhh and yeah i always miss my rides to the red. It has happened multiple times.
woodchuck07 says:
OK CW, it's not the University of Colorado, it's Colorado University at Boulder. Got it. You can tell I haven't been there in a long time to boulder on the walls ala' the 70's. It's the school made famous by Mork from 'Ork, right?
Ash, I'd guess you've probably missed more rides to the Red than my total trips down there at all.
