So, I noticed something today whilst shopping around for some new rubber. Most all of the higher end shoes only come in sizes up to around a 12. What about those ( like me) who wear 13's, am I destined only to climb mid range trad and hang out in the gym all day?
Just annoying, I want a pair of barracudas, but alas, unless my feet shrink, I'm screwed.
Damn you all and your small feet!
-See, being tall isn't all it's cracked up for to

I salute you sir in your statement of truth. Now don't tell me that all the top end shoes are Sold Out for Mr. Bigfoot. I say they understock, just to keep us off the cliffs. Discrimination, yes it is. Where's Al Sharpton or Jesse when we need them to speak up for us in this time of need??
And it tears me up that each and every Euro sized shoe maker has a diffent sizing method, so an 11 is really a 12 or a 45 needs to be a 46, and on it goes. Our dear Sara at Miguels can attest for this....I went through 7 brands of shoes and sizes, all marked as 'my' shoe size, yet not one fit my fat, flat and wide size 12 foot. Finally got my toes packed into last giant pair of Red Chili Coronas....Euro 46, UK 11.5 and now that my climbing shrunken foot has expanded back to normal, they don't fit comfy either. But a little sweat, water, thin socks and stretching the all leather shoe, should get me into them within a week I trust.
Yeah, pointy narrow footed climbers seem to rule the shoe business. Where are my box toed high tops when needed???

Bahahah.
i tryed barracudas on.
they were nice.
fortunatly for me.
i wear a size 10 in womens.

Try getting a size 12 foot with a high arch, and very narrow shape into most climbing shoes today. Why don't they make womens shoes in a large enough size so I can buy a pair that fit, besides the Katana last from La Sportiva. My Testarosas fit great, but I'm stuck with that brand for tight-fitting, aggro shoes.
Cheers!

Smaller size shoes with a high arch don't work for me, being as I have a lower arch and the High arch shoes put undue stress on my feet. I feel I'm destined for the like of 5.10 coyotes and such ( which I love my coyotes, but still)

Flat feet. No arch. I walk on the inner side leathers of my shoes like they were the sole. Pointy little slippers with that curved toe/arch design are not for me. Big, full bodied, high tops for sure.
abbyduh says:
hahahaha.
wow
you guys have some serious feet issues.
might want to go check with your feet doctor.
haha just kiddinggggg.

I guess I'm just destined by God to be a traddie. Sport shoes are too small.

Suck it up buttercup :P Some hard ass climbs were put up in shoes like EBs. I remember seeing a video of someone (JB?) climbing 5.13 in loafers!
gonzobeer says:
Yeah, I'll let you know when I can clear v11 in crocs.

Tretorn tennis shoes... the stickiest rubber back in the day. Think I saw a photo of RRobbins once doing a route in them when sticky was needed. They were THE shoe for pro tennis players of 60's-70s, before Nike or Adidas companies took off. British imports I believe.
