Anyone out there climb in Looking Glass or anywhere in that area? Thats where I like to go, looking for some pals to climb with once in a while. Drop me a comment if you want, I'm a chick and live in Florida, love to travel where the good climbings at. Peace.

Welcome aboard. I went 'looking' for Looking Glass and areas around Brevard NC last summer with some hiking friends. Want to get back there to climb next July for sure. Post up all your good stuff here. The more foolish it is, the more we appreciate it.

All that's left now for the official 'full house' greeting is BadAsh and Climbingwall to check in and say 'hello.

Hey!! Thanks for the comment, I hope you recover quickly. Hysterectomy, wow, you can't be that old, LOL. I know that recovering from that is hell. I work in healthcare and have seen what these women go thru. By now, you should be getting back outside and feeling better.

I am reading everyones comments. So cool! Nice to hear from so many of you. Everyone's been so welcoming. THANKS!

Thanks for the link to the connects. I will look into it. I plan to head up to Brevard soon, April, I hope it's nice up there.

Best wishes in your recovery...

We never included you in 'our' geezer network did we? Open to those who self proclaim their geezer'ness in climbing. The geezers have spoken up first here, and all the others will follow up in greetings soon.

sorry, thought your geezer comment was a blanket statement that only badash was disqualified for. ;) though true that im not a regular poster any more... that may change for about a month then i will get too busy again. (I hope)

THANKS everyone for such a nice welcome! I will say that I love to hear from peeps with the same love.........I am almost done with nursing school!! A couple more months, but I can't wait that long to get out, so I am trying to hook up with some pals in Brevard, sometime in April.

For Woodchuck.......lots of great routes, don't know all the names. But, if anyone is open to guide services, I've used Fox Mnt guides. They know that area very well. There's another friend who's starting a guiding service this year, Patrick Weaver. Some of you may know him. Very popular in that area, great guy, teacher and experienced guide. I personally have learned a lot from him. I've taken some courses with him and climbed with him too.

I also climbed in Chimney rock, about an hour-ish south of Looking glass, they just in the last year open that park up to climbers. I believe Fox Mnt guides are the only ones allowed to lead there. But the routes are long and awesome! Great views from almost every angle. Like I said earlier, I plan to be up that way in April. I hope to hook up with some pals, but if anyone else plans to be up there during that time. Put it out there and maybe we could all hook up.
