Captain Static here bloggin' atcha from poolside. Just finishing up a one week vacation in sunny Florida. How does a climber survive for a week in Florida? Well I bought the latest issues of all three climbing rags, Urban Climber, Rock & Ice, and Climbing to read. Really, I needed the rest after messing up both my middle fingers earlier this spring. They have slowly have been getting better and hopefully with having taken one week off I'll be ready to start training for the fall season @ the Red.
In addition to swimming and beach walking, my wife got me involved in some Bikram yoga classes down here that are kickin' my butt. Bikram is the original "hot yoga" where they crank up the heat to make you sweat while doing yoga. This stuff is not your grandma's yoga class. What was really embarrassing was that I could barely do the balance poses. A climber that can't balance?
Anyways, while reading R&I I discovered that our modest mouse Katie Brown onsighted the second ascent of "Jack in the Box" 5.13a at Bridger Jacks, Indian Creek, UT. Wayto go KT B!

Well from a recent vacationer in Florida myself I hear ya, I missed out on a gathering here in Colorado, but hung out on the beach and the famous Ron Jon's and meet some similar people to our community, so it was enlightening, but glad to be back on the rock! "Climb On"

Hope you're having a good time. I just might see you this fall at Rocktoberfest, if I can work out all the "details".

Flew back home last night. On my connecting flight from Atlanta I lucked out and got seated in business class. Whoopee, free drinks! Anyways, I had saved Climbing magazine to read on the trip home. I found out in Climbing that my friend Angie Payne crushed Castaway a V11 in Poudre Canyon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLKh9XZ_f2Y)! I must say that enjoyed all three of the climbing rags I read during my vacation but can't wait to get back in the saddle.
