Well, I finally made it to Canmore after a long and arduous drive north, including an hour-long stop at the border, during which I got questioned and my car searched.
Today we're headed to Lake Louise to check out a route called Jason Lives. We'll see how it goes after sitting in a car for many, many hours.

Last year for our annual ohio climber gathering we had a slide show by a very special guest Barry Blanchard (Old schoolers will know who this is, young 'uns do your homework!). Barry's awesome presentation was about climbing & mountaineering all over the Canadian Rockies but I was most impressed by his home crag Yamsuska (Mt. Laurie). Katie, hope you have time to check out Yamnuska for some great trad.

Canmore!! lucky. I'm so jealous! I love it up there! Lake Louise, grassi lakes evening sessions, HaLing Peak speed ascents, Zona's at night (where you can find EVERYBODY), deserts at grizzly paw brewing co, shop at the cute clothes store on main street, buy body butter sticks at rocky mountain soap co, say hi to youth coach Dung Nguyen at Vsion gym. These are all canmore road trip essentials! There's a crew of fun girls up there have a great time!

sounds like a nice destination to add to the list, if I have a week or two to catch all the hotspots that susanica mentions above!
