So, I am thinking of where to go and if July/Aug is a good time of year. With gas prices so high, I am hoping to drive somewhere, less than a days drive and somewhere I can bring my dog. Awesome Australian Shepherd-Tito! Pics to come. So, I am open to here from the community to see whats cooking out there. I'll be reading some of your blogs in hopes of finding out some good info.
cheers!

From Florida...where to? Got a climber to join up with, to share the gas costs? OR just a ca$h 'hitcher off a ride board to drop somewhere on your way to NC or Kentucky. I'm hoping to get to RRG by mid July if possible again.

Thanx for the tips, but I'm a chic and no way am I going to p/u a hitch-hiker. Maybe a fellow climber from my gym. But you know how it is to travel with people sometimes. We'll see what happens. So, RRG?
Anyone know whats a good place in Salt Lk city to climb, anyone out there that's frequents those spots and is open to showing a Fla-cracker some cool crags?

BTW, didn't you just have leg surgery? Can't remember if thats you or someone else on this site? If so, how are you doing?

Tons of good stuff to climb in/around Salt Lake City. (you are talking Utah right) Both Big and Little Cottonwood canyons have lots-0-routes on granite and several at moderate grades. But I'm 5 hours south of SLC so can't help with a tour...sorry. :)

So is there more info on this site and your site on SLC area and the above mentioned places?
climbingtrash says:
I think you're best resource would be a guide book for the Wasatch.

This is a pretty comprehensive one for the state...

Good choice, CT. A local overall guidebook like that should have the info for first time visitors for sure.

My climbing partner and I are planning a trip to Looking Glass outside of Asheville, NC in mid-July. We are driving down from Chicago. Our plan is to climb a bunch of multi-pitch stuff in preparation for a trip to RMNP in August. You, and your dog, are welcome to join us. I have driven from Asheville to Miami and it is not horrible.

Hey, tell me about you and your partner, male/female, age? I like looking class and have been there a few times, nice climbing, it'll be hot, but if you know which face to climb at certain times of day, it should be great. Mid-July sounds good. I'll look at my schedule, in the mean time tell me more about you.

Hey db, sorry it took a while for a response, it's taking me a little while to figure things out on the count that my RN boards are just a few days away. I think I will be in NC sometime in September. I am starting a new job in just a week and unable to really take any time off in July to climb, so I have to wait. In the mean time I am working on my climbing and getting stonger so that I can start prepping for my next endeavor, the SPI cert. Have a great time @ Looking Glass, it's a great place to climb.
Be safe.......climb on

yeah, my leg is getting better and I hope to be out by July to the Red. SLC is full of nice stuff like Trash says, up little Cottonwood canyon and such. Katie should know some nice spots too, from her numerous stays near there. Sounds like you have a few options for a couple weeks tour in Aug.

I have friends that live in SLC, near downtown, so I'll be staying with them. So I'd like to climb for a few days while I'm out there. Thanx for the beta and hope you have a speady recovery.

Uhhh, hello site web guru: I see several other multiple posts all over the site so I can assume I am not alone having the problem with getting responses to connect, to send out on first try. Frozen pages on site have become a regular expectation lately.
