GATHERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AnyKineClimb started a great idea way back when for a gathering at Eleven Mile State Park on July 21-22; Well wanted to remind all you RockRatz and any climbers who want to come out, that the biggest gathering we have had yet is getting closer, so get the sitters, take the day off work, pack up the car and come on out! It promises to be a great time of climbing and waaaaaaaaay to much partying, so if your in see below for more info. “Climb Onâ€
here's the rough plan:
Where? Eleven Mile State Park
When? July 21, 22
We'll be at the riverside campsites. AKC was able to reserve sites 15 and 17 online. Others can reserve sites here: http://www.recreation.gov/homeLeft.do?topTabIndex=CampingSpot
sites are $10/ night plus $9 reservation fee.
Also keep in mind that you have to either pay the $5 fee to get in or the $35 annual pass. Although this is a CO State park, the regular annual parks pass is NOT valid here. Camp sites are also limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles so some car pooling at the park entrance may be in order.

Rockratz says:
I have reserved site 16
Pludos says:
OK, lets start the PCI's, oh and my tent is red but I will have to get a red carpet for you to enter.
Anykineclimb says:
I'll be heading out Friday to get in a little climbing and set up camp. I do have the be back in the Springs about 1730 to pick up a friend at the airport. We should be back out about 2000 though.
Rockratz says:
We will be there friday as well. Planing on doing the staircase with you?
climbingwall says:
Well, I requested it off, so let's see what happens. If I do get there, it will be late, and I plan on waking everyone up with a stirring rendition of "God Save Our King"!!!
Cheers!
Anykineclimb says:
Staircase would be sweet RR. Then maybe do 11 mile dome on saturday. some nice moderates there. easy to TR also
littlejohn says:
Wish I could make it! Family is coming in that weekend. It sounds like I'll be missing out on the gathering of the year! :( Congrats on Member of the month Cliff. I mean your Majesty! Hope to see you all again sometime soon.

I will be working on Saturday night, but I am interested in climbing on Saturday. Is it easy to find the crags from the camprground? Will people be climbing on Saturday morning? Is it sport routes, trad routes, or both?
Rockratz says:
Yes they are easy to find, and im thinking mostly sort, some trad but we will have some new people out so there will be plenty of Top Roping going on as well..
Vegas says:
I have something going on Friday, but will drive up first thing Saturday morning and stay for the day. Let me know what time you guys want to start that day and I'll sure to be there. And I can bring some of you starbucks on the way in =)
Also, anyone going outdoors tomorrow? After being rained out the last few days, I'm itching to get my climbing on. I'll probably do a session at GotG after work today. Call if you want to meet up.
Finally, does anyone know if the new Flashed Ronin Crashpad is available yet? I haven't seen anyone who's selling it. If some of you RR are getting your bouldering on, it would be good investment.

Pludos says:
Me and RR will be up there Friday, so Saturday is no problem-I know the Queen would like Starbucks, but there is not enough room on here to write how she orders it.
RR will be on Crag Sunday but not sure where yet.
Oh and FYI Santana (my daughter is hooked on Bouldering now!)

For those who've never been to 11 mile; study up:
http://mountainproject.com/v/colorado/south_platte/elevenmile_canyon/105...
we'll probbaly be at 11 mile dome on saturday (pretty obvious dome on the right. right ON the street) the north side slabs are pretty mellow and theres some cool sport routes also. we'll decide from there for options. Lots of easy stuff on arch rock, turret dome and pine cone dome also.
Rockratz says:
AKC we are still planning on doing Stair case friday?

Anykineclimb says:
Jeane, I've got two sites and you're welcome to use one of them. Is Tim still coming?
RR, what time you planning on going out on Friday? Would love to do Staircase but need to leave in time to pick up my friend in The Springs at 1730.
Anykineclimb says:
RR, website is looking better and better. Is Joe giving you a discount on MR gear with the advert?
Rockratz says:
I think we are going to head out early on friday, like leaving at 9 or so i still have to conferm that with Pludos. Yes MR is giving me Pro Deals for the website. Also i have been emailing Robert Holister realy nice guy and is excited that we have such a large group in the springs. Im in the process of coordinating a RRCOS clean up day with him and maybe for the Gardens as well in conjunction with the access fund. Im really excited about the whole thing it would be great for us do give to the community like that and really get the RockRatz name out as well. I will be posting more info on our blog page on the RR website.

Well, that was a wet and interesting weekend! I hope everyone got in some good climbing. I know we did. Apparently, Rich stopped up on Saturday but could not find us. Bummer.
Did anyone take any pictures when we were climbing Elevenmile Dome? If so, could you please post them or send them? Thanks!
